Chapter Eleven- Destiny
I didnât regret getting out the house tonight at all. We were having the time of our lives and Jamika and Candace were actually getting along.
Candace, by the way, had one too many apple martiniâs and she couldnât stop giggling.
We sat in the restaurant that wasnât too fancy so we were all dressed pretty casual. I believed we were being a little too loud, judging from the glances we kept getting, from time to time, from the other diners.
âSo howâs the wedding plans going?â Candace asked, about three levels to high. I could have sworn we werenât sitting at the same table.
âStressful as hell, but Iâm glad I got my girl to help me,â I said, as I smiled over at Jamika.
âOh oh, we should plan Destiny a bachelorette party!â Candace exclaimed, as she clapped her hands loudly with excitement. This bitch definitely needed to switch to water.
âAw shit, thatâs a great idea,â Jamika said, as she looked at me and nodded her head.
I held my hands up at them and began to protest, immediately.
âHell naw, I donât need no lame ass bachelorette party. Beside Iâve got my very own stripper at home, thank you very much.â Jamika rolled her eyes at me, dramatically and I began laughing.
Candace, on the other hand, got a really confused look on her face and I decided to clarify my words.
âMy fiancé used to strip as a side hustle,â I said casually, not even feeling a bit ashamed at revealing this fact to Candace. Whose jaw, by the way, was now dangling at me in a very comical way.
âBitch, if you donât shut your mouth,â I said, as I reached over and placed my hand under her chin, prompting her to close her mouth.
âGirl, are you for real?â Candace whispered in a harsh tone as she leaned closer to me.
Jamika and I began to giggle at the expression Candace held on her face.
âYes Iâm for real. My man was a whole stripper when we first met,â I said, as I smiled and thought back to the first time I saw Trent on stage and he came over and gave me a personal lap dance.
âDidnât that bother you? I mean, doesnât it still bother you that you could be out with him knowing thereâs a chance that females you encounter may have seen your man butt naked?â I shrugged my shoulders at her question.
âHonestly, no I didnât. We had our ups and downs just like regular people in their relationships. Trent promised me that he never mixed business with pleasure and I was crazy enough to believe him,â I explained, as I kept eye contact with Candace.
âWow, thatâs amazing I hope to find love like that one day.â Candace got a faraway look on her face as if visualizing what true love would be like.
âWhereâs your sonâs daddy?â Jamika asked, and I wished I would have told Jamika beforehand not to bring that up. It seemed as though Candace wasnât over that just yet.
